What I’m Wednesday 43

Welcome to the place where I share what I’m up to each week and a bit of my real life outside of the blog.

Random confession

I HATE jellybeans. It’s a texture thing. Of course, the Easter Bunny left jellybeans in the Easter eggs that were hidden on Easter. My 5 year old tries constantly to share them with me. I only can stomach the orange and yellow ones. All others are a hard pass from me. I feel so bad that she wants me to share them with her. She genuinely thinks they make me happy and just apologized to me for not having any orange and yellow ones in the Easter egg she just ate. It’s all kinds of sweet. I told her not to worry about it and enjoy them, and she seemed so disappointed not to have the good colors for me that it broke my heart a little bit.

Doing

…. A puzzle. What else is new? We finished the first Cinderella one and are halfway through the second. This one’s really hard because most of it is blue. And this is what life is now… the most interesting thing I have to share with you all is news about jigsaw puzzles.

Moving on.

Fortunately there has been some nice weather too and we’ve been able to get outside.

Reading

I’m reading Writers and Lovers right now, but I only just started it so am not very far in. I’ll report back next week when I’m done with it.

Listening to

I have gone deep into the Ed Sheeran stuff on Apple Music. It’s my preferred listening right now while I work. Love it. Especially the acoustic stuff.

Eating

Banana bread. We have baked a zillion loaves of banana bread during the quarantine and this cinnamon swirl banana bread is so dang good. If you want to jump on that bandwagon give that recipe a go. It’s easy and makes such yummy bread.

Writing

I’ve published quite a few pieces outside the blog lately. My last one on Scary Mommy is the piece I am currently the most proud of writing. It’s about the nonprofit Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and their adaptations during social distancing to provide bereaved families with heirloom photos. The organization is fabulous and near and dear to my family since we had photos done of our son.

That’s it for me this week! What are you up to? How are you all holding up? Leave me a comment and let me know!
