What I’m Wednesday 24

Welcome to the place where I share what I’m up to each week and a bit of my real life outside of the blog.

Doing

The Santa thing. I’m feeling pretty proud of my purchases thus far. My daughter is just about set minus a few artsy type things and stocking stuffers.

The baby though. Oh boy. When my daughter was 1, I think Santa got her some outfits and a box or two of diapers. But of course, there weren’t older kids at the time so I didn’t need to keep up appearances of Santa. Now I have to try a bit harder to give my daughter the full Santa thing. Because it would be kind of lame from a little kid point of view if Santa just left diapers and sleepers.

Watching

My Christmas binge continues. My daughter and I watched The Santa Clause over the weekend. Man, it looks so dated now. It’s so funny watching these early 90s movies and thinking that. Granted not all the movies from that era just look dated like that one. For example, Home Alone doesn’t visually scream early 90s to me the way the Santa Clause does. I think a lot of it is the cars. And also the sweaters that Neal wears in the Santa Clause.

My husband and I also watched the Hallmark move Christmas in Rome. As Hallmark movies go, this one was particularly saccharine. I was super excited to watch it too because 1) I love Gretchen Weiners (aka Lacey Chabert) and she starred in it and 2) it was set in Rome and I drool over anything Rome related. But alas, the movie was beyond predictable and not in that so bad its good way like some of my favorites are. This was just not that great. If you’re looking for a Gretchen Weiners Christmas movie, go with Matchmaker Santa or A Royal Christmas. A Royal Christmas is particularly classic because it has Jane Seymour, you know, from a little show called Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman as the disapproving queen mum who gives Julie Andrews in Princess Diaries a run for her money. I watch that one anytime its on really.

Eating

I think I might turn into a sugar cookie. I did some store bought sugar cookie dough hacks and made a bunch of different dipped sugar cookies. We’re talking cookies for days people.

When I haven’t been overdoing it on cookies and cupcakes, made for my son’s first birthday party, I’ve been really loving this roasted broccoli and Brussels sprouts pasta lately.

Loving

So, I told you guys before, but I am obsessed with this color conditioner called Overtone. Btws, this is not an affiliate link, I just really love it. I bought some of the daily chocolate brown conditioner to go along with my daily purple conditioner for brown hair and my color is great. I used it for the first time this weekend and my sister told me it looked like I had just gotten my hair done. The only downside? The brown definitely stained my white nail polish but hey, I’ll take it over a pricey salon trip right now.

Laughing at

Allllllll the baby Yoda memes but especially the ones where baby Yoda is excited for food. I deeply identify with those.

Committing to

RUNNING A HALF MARATHON. This has been on my bucket list for like a full decade. I got close in 2018 and had planned to run one in June that year, but I was pregnant and miserable so it didn’t happen. But I will do it, dang it. April 2020 here I come.

That’s it for me this week! What are you up to? Leave me a comment and let me know!
